June 18, 2011

On June 18th the Dutch veterans and those from abroad will be rounding off the 2010/2011 hockey season.  To end this in a good and cosy way, we are organising the Vet-er-aan veterans hockey tournament.  Hockey will be played in 2, and possibly 3 competitions.  We are hoping for a minimum of 20 teams who will battle it out for the prestigious vet-er-aan trophy.  The following teams are welcome:

Ladies veterans (30+)

Mens veterans (35+)

Mixed team (35+) (If there is enough interest then there will be a mixed competition.  At least half or the team has to be over 35)

The Vet-er-aan veteran tournament will begin on Saturday, June 18th at 9.30am.  After a cup of coffee and scrumptious cake, the matches start at 10.30am.  At approximately 1pm, the caterer will provide a lunch for the teams present.  After having filled our bellies, we can resume the hockey on one of the sanded pitches or on the lovely veteran grass pitch.  After the matches on Saturday (approx. 5pm), we will having drinks and snacks.  Around 7pm, the caterer will be serving a delicious dinner.  After dinner, those having booked a room at the Hotel Leusden (5 minutes on foot from our hockeyclub), can check in and park their vehicles at the hotel.

After you get back to the MHCL buildings for a party with an “old farts” band. At around 1am everybody will be returned to the hotel.  The tournament resumes at 10.30am on the Sunday for those teams playing.  The Sunday brunch onwill be at the hockey club.
